Description: Teach computer literacy (primarily components of Microsoft Office) to students in grades 9-10.  Teach computer literacy (database in Excel and web design) to students in grade 11.  Teach computer literacy (programming in Java and auto-cad and technical drawing) to students in 12th grade.

Requirements: Education Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university. Valid credentials from a state and/or from another recognized accrediting agency for the appropriate grade level. Professional Certification or ACSI Certification 6 semester hours or 18 CEUs of biblical studies

  • Specialized knowledge: All teachers must have ACSI biblical philosophy of Christian school Education (can be obtained in your first year of employment)
  • Skills, Abilities, & Other characteristics such as personal characteristics: Born-again Christians, active members of an Evangelical church, and give evidence of good moral character
  • Native English speaker or equivalent
  • Employees shall be persons who are able to understand and respect other cultures and work harmoniously and effectively in cross-cultural situations.
  • Maintain a close personal walk with God as evidenced by his/her example and spiritual leadership among peers and with students.
  • Observe the Matthew 18 principle in conflict resolution. Avoid a negative, critical spirit. Take problems to the appropriate administrator.
  • Demonstrates continued professional development through coursework, research, peer collaboration, and/or staff development. Working knowledge of the subject matter, classroom management techniques, current researches best practices and strategies, as well as students’ learning styles and needs, both academic and emotional.

Experience: Educational experience is preferred; student teaching is acceptable.

Teach subjects and classes as assigned using an established curriculum along with supplementary materials, field trips, special guests, etc. to enhance them.

  • See that assigned classrooms are kept in a neat appearance.
    
  • Maintain proper classroom discipline, taking care of minor problems personally and referring major problems to the appropriate principal.

Description: Supervise and coordinate all school activities within the school calendar and in conjunction with the ABSH calendar in order to support a positive school environment.  Plan, organize, and implement appropriate activities that encourage students to develop their physical and intellectual potential and grow spiritually.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Develop and coordinate all activity programs of ALP.
  • Coordinate participation in other extracurricular activities not related to spiritual life such as knowledge bowl, spelling bee, math Olympics, music festival, art festival, science fair, etc.
  • Plan and implement effective fundraising activities for extracurricular activities.
  • Schedule all extracurricular events for all levels of students.
  • Schedule all practices within the facilities available.
  • Prepare an annual budget for extracurricular programs.
  • Maintain inventory of all athletic supplies, equipment, uniforms, etc., including ordering, maintenance, assignments, etc.
  • Secure officials for all hosted extracurricular events.
  • Coordinate extracurricular schedules with both organizations in or out of school.
  • Schedule transportation as needed.
  • Secure coaches and sponsors for teams as needed with the administration's approval.  Provide in-service training and resources as appropriate.
  • Maintain records of student and team accomplishments.
  • Serve as the school’s representative at meetings related to athletics and extracurricular activities.
  • Provide information for parents and the public regarding extracurricular events.
  • Conduct coaches' meetings, observations, and suggestions for improvement.
  • Organize and implement invitational tournaments as scheduled.
  • Ensure that only eligible students are participating in practices and events.
  • Properly register students in all activities.
  • Maintain and coordinate with the appropriate principals a program of recognition for participants in extracurricular activities.

Qualifications

  • Able to communicate well in both English and Spanish.
  • Previous experience in the Honduran athletic system as a player and/or coach would be beneficial.
  • Prior experience at Academia Los Pinares would be beneficial.
  • Willingness to travel to activities in order to help in coordination and supervision.
  • Willingness to work with the school administrators.
  • Training in coaching or willingness to pursue such training.
  • Ability to communicate and relate well with students.
  • Good communication skills and an understanding of the workings of the Honduran Athletic system.
  • Organizational abilities

Other Characteristics

  • Education: Master’s degree in school administration or certification in activities coordinator
  • Specialized knowledge: Bilingual
  • A born-again Christian, an active evangelical church member, and evidence of good moral character.

Job purpose

Counsel and assist students ensuring that they are in a learning environment that guides and encourages them to develop their academic potential and grow spiritually.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Accept responsibility for the development of the secondary counseling program.
  • Counsel and assist students with emotional, behavioral, and/or psychosocial problems.
  • Maintain close communication with parents of students who are being assisted.
  • Keep professional and accurate records of all activity with or about counselees.
  • Keep each student’s teacher informed of progress and ways in which the teacher can help through verbal and written feedback.
  • Keep appropriate administrators informed of student needs as deemed appropriate through regular weekly meetings with supervisors.
  • Be available to teachers for conferences with parents.
  • Accept responsibility for additional assigned duties as is necessary for the effective operation of A.L.P.

Qualifications

  • Education
    • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university

Description:  Teach one or two courses of mathematics to various sections. The classes we offer our students are Pre-Algebra (7th), Algebra 1 (8th), Geometry (9th), Algebra 2 (10th), Pre-Calculus (11th), AP Calculus (12th), and Statistics (those in 12th not taking AP Calculus).
