Preschool and Elementary Counseling Services
K to 6th Grade
- General Guidance: The Elementary counselor provides one-on-one and group support to help students adapt to school life, develop positive relationships, and resolve conflicts.
- Character Education: Students participate in bi-weekly 20-minute classroom sessions focused on values like kindness, respect, and perseverance, helping them build strong moral character and social-emotional skills.
- Parent Support: Preschool parents receive newsletters outlining social-emotional skills that are being taught in the classroom, with tips for practicing at home. Elementary parents are provided with psycho-pedagogical resources, practical counseling advice, and tools to nurture mental and emotional health at home.
High School Counseling Services
Lower High School (7th to 10th Grade)
- Comprehensive Support: Counseling focuses on academic growth, personal development, and spiritual well-being. Counselors provide individualized attention and create a supportive environment.
- Academic and Vocational Guidance: Students explore their strengths and interests through vocational assessments using the BridgeU platform, which helps identify potential career paths and academic goals.
- Social-Emotional Development: Group activities strengthen emotional intelligence, motivation, and self-esteem, addressing challenges like stress, peer relationships, and family changes.
- Collaboration with Learning Support: Counselors work closely with the Learning Support Team to address learning challenges through adapted intervention plans.
Upper High School (11th to 12th Grade)
- College and Career Readiness: Counseling includes personalized guidance for college applications, career exploration, and SAT preparation using platforms like BridgeU, Common App, and College Board. Students can take ownership of their application process while receiving structured support.
- Character Development and Leadership: Programs like Habitudes help students develop discipline, responsibility, and leadership skills, ensuring they are well-prepared for life after graduation.
- Parent Engagement: Through workshops, meetings, and email updates, parents are kept informed about college application timelines, scholarship opportunities, and university requirements.
