During the 2014-2015 school year, we will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of Academia Los Pinares. Plan to join us February 27 & 28 for special celebration events. More information coming soon. There WILL be classes on Friday, October 3, and Monday, October 27. Si habrá clases el Viernes 3 y el Lunes 27 de Octubre. We will celebrate the October holidays with a half day of classes on Wednesday, October 29, and no classes on Thursday, October 30, and Friday, October 31. En relación a los feriados de Octubre, tendremos medio día de clases el Miercoles 29 y no habrá clases los días Jueves 30 y Viernes 31 de Octubre.
The track team has returned from their meet in San Pedro. Nine bilingual schools from ABSH participated. The team did well over all with many podium finishes. We will start with the 3rd place rewards. Jasmine Blakeslee earned a third place in the 800m run, and Liana Ochoa earned a 3rd place in high jump. Carlos Barahona also earned a third place in the high jump. Patrick Paysen earned a 3rd place in the discus and in the javelin. To start our second place finishers, Fares Flores earned a second place medal in all three throwing events discus, shoutout and javelin. Marcelo Barahona earned a 2nd place in the 1500m run. Ricardo Matamoros earned a 2nd place in the 110m hurdles. The 4 by 100m team of Fernando Ramirez, Ricardo Matamoros, Carlos Barahona and Josue Sánchez earned a 2nd place spot in an amazing race with excellent hand-offs. The team even walked away with two first place finishers. Samuel Lopez with a 1st place in 110m hurdles and Marcelo Barahona with a 1st place in high jump. If you see track athletes today congratulate them on a good season.
